Saludos!!

--------------

Has been a while since I post something or write a Jounal, but life is quite different when you have a child :) ...at January 10th was born Ekain, my first son , and the truth is that it leaves little free time (and don't care i like be with him), so draw and photograph is somehow abandoned ;). I have things cooking, but until they were totally finished and ready to post will take some time.

Next time, I'll upload something ...

cheers!

P.D. Sorry for my baaad english!

Ok,... i'm learnig, and thats what can be read in my comments foot note. It's been a while from the time I'd buyed the tablet and began drawing. But I have noted that I have some problems drawing a totally imagined pieces with proportions and I've decided to draw from references to study human body, faces, and eventually draw without references.

I've draw two pieces so far, and I'll draw more because I've noted an improvement when I try to draw without references ( I'm not going to submit anything of those until I became better :P).

With those drawings I'll submit the process, not only to help other, people because look the drawing process of other artist helped me a lot, but remember what technique I used. I'm a totally mess and I don't have at this moment a unique process to draw. I'm searching for a suitable technique for me.

From now I'll try to feature the process and tutorials where I could learn anything interesting. Not in this post, because I've a lot of regular work to do...

If someone is interested in any step of the process of one of my drawings I'll be glad to help.

So wish me good luck to improve!! :D

After a year here in Deviantart finally I buy a premium membership. I get tired of not be able to feature some of the wonderful artist that I meet here.

I’m not usually a :+fav: and run person, I like to comment the art submitted  and try to say something more than “Hey! I liked very much!. Sometimes scares me to do some critic of the art, but I like when somebody say something about my ‘artwoks’ because it helps me to improve, and usually that removes every fear that I had about.

During this year I discovered a lot of wonderful artists and since that time I’m watching them. I’m sure that a lot of them are very known and maybe others not, but I think that be able to share this with other deviant people is one of the most interesting features of this wonderful site.

This time I’ll feature only artworks from tree artist that I’m sure you know, and if that’s not the case… please go and take a look to their galleries and try, if you can, to not :+fav: everything :D.

Cindy  was the first artist that amazed me, and I’m a BIG fan since then. It’s not only her amazing and eye catching artwork, she is one of that kind of persons with a big big heart and always trying to help everybody. I was new here at DeviantArt and after see a few artworks of her I asked her about how she gets those skins in her manipulations. I asked, and  I didn’t expect a response. But she responds explaining me how to do, encouraging me to try new things…  She makes me to improve, and because of her now I have a wacom tablet and I’m addicted to deviantArt… so thank you very much Cindy :glomp:.

A really amazing artist, and is really wonderful to see how he was improving at every new artwork that he summit. He’s drawing more and more things in his deviations with his style, influenced by Luis Royo as he says and maybe this is the first thing that attracted my eyes to his artwork. Now he has a personal style that I recognize at the moment I see another of his pieces and say “Wow! That’s of Aphostol for sure!”. So keep improving … I’m watching with lot of interest :+devwatch:

Elena is another exceptional artist and person. Once I comment about how wonderful was a hair style she drawn, and I was figuring how she do it… And she send me a note explaining how!. She is also supporting contests, and if you make comments of one of her artwork I assure you that she will answer every one. It’s a pleasure to see the pieces she use to make her artwork and figure how she could do such an impressive artwork… and it helps a lot to learn. Thanks for share your art Elena :blowkiss:

YES YES YES!!

Finally I get my Wacom Intuos 3 A5 Special Edition, and It's a pleasure to use it for drawing, and photomanipulating.

After the Witcher contest entry I knew that I'll buy a tablet or die trying... and :iconcindysart: suggest me to do it... Thank you very much Cindy for your advise. Work with a tablet is totally different than use the mouse and you can work better with the tiny details.

I need to learn a lot about the tablet, but I'm sure that, with the help of the other deviants, lot of work, and those incredible tutorials over the deviant community I'll improve my artwork.

I finish my last deviation... and has been a pleasure... :D.

Hope I have enought time to work more in the deviations, but my regular work now exhaust almost every moment I have...

See you in DeviantArt :glomp:

Uff!! I finaly finish the entry for "The Witcher" contest. It begins like a simple drawing but I fell down into a spyral of detailing that make me exhausted :faint:.

First the clothes of the Witcher... I draw them with highlights, black/whites some blues... and I think to myself... why don't texturize the globe and the coat... Hmmm!!

After finish that I realized that it looks better and more realistic...:excited:

So ... why no texturize the belts?... I do so... looks great... The shirt-sleeves seems not enough realistic compared with the rest of the clothes... so... texturizing again...

What next... the face??

I don't find anything that matches my texture ideas... so a make a lot of macro shoots of my own face. Take them, modify ... hhmm... the lips don't look good... So for the lips I take a photo macro of my wife's lips. Ok... that's what I need :phew:.

Ok... now what could I made.... Hair?

That was the principal problem I get the hair of the Witcher... I dont have a drawing tablet so I use the mouse (All the tutorials that explain how draw a realistic hair that I have found are for a tablet). Draw hair with a mouse is like a pain in the ass :frustrated:. I redo the hair over four times (color,... smudge, a lot of layers,...:work: ) and then I decided to draw it without details and use a texture to make it look more realistic. Buff!! I need to buy rigth now a tablet or die trying.

The magic smoke was easy using brushes, some gradient maps... and... Oh no!!! The time for the contest was almost exhausted... :sprint: so I did the background (with very old photos) in a hurry... so is problably with a lot of mistakes... and not as detailed as I would like.

But I finish :boogie:... this piece look to me a looong journey...
Now I need to rest
